§ 01
What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website places on your device. Cookies allow a website to recognise your device on subsequent visits, to remember your preferences, and to keep you signed in to authenticated areas. Similar technologies — local storage, session storage, and pixel tags — serve comparable purposes and are covered by this policy together with cookies.
We distinguish between cookies that are strictly necessary for the website to function and cookies that require your consent. We currently set only strictly necessary cookies on this website. We do not run cross-site advertising trackers, and we do not share information from cookies with advertising networks.
01
§ 02
Categories we use
The cookies set on this domain fall into the following categories:
- Strictly necessary — required for the website to function. Lawful basis: Article 6(1)(f) GDPR / §25(2) TTDSG (no consent required).
- Functional preferences — remember choices you have made, such as your interface language. Where these go beyond what is strictly necessary, we obtain your consent.
- Security — protect the website and its users against abuse, fraud and automated attacks.
- We do not currently use analytics, advertising or social-media cookies on this website.
02
§ 03
Cookies in use
The table below lists the specific cookies and similar items that may be stored on your device when you visit this website.
| Name | Purpose | Duration | Category |
|---|---|---|---|
NEXT_LOCALE | Remembers the interface language you selected so we can display the site in that language on subsequent visits. | 12 months | Functional |
tatar-session | Encrypted session cookie used solely to keep authenticated administrators signed in to the internal admin panel. It is never set for ordinary visitors. | Session, max 7 days | Strictly necessary |
__cf_bm | Set by Cloudflare to distinguish humans from bots and to protect the website against automated abuse. Required for the website to load reliably. | 30 minutes | Strictly necessary |
cf_chl_* | Set by the Cloudflare Turnstile bot-protection challenge that runs on the contact form. Used only to validate the challenge and prevent automated submissions. | Session | Strictly necessary |
03
§ 04
Third parties
Cookies named "__cf_bm" and "cf_chl_*" are set by Cloudflare, Inc. on our behalf as the security and bot-protection layer in front of this website. Information collected by these cookies is processed by Cloudflare under the terms set out in their privacy policy at https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/ and under the data processing agreement we have with them.
We do not embed third-party content (videos, social-media widgets, advertising trackers) that would set additional cookies on your device.
04
§ 05
Consent and how to withdraw it
We currently set only strictly necessary cookies and one functional language-preference cookie (NEXT_LOCALE). Strictly necessary cookies are set on the legal basis of §25(2) TTDSG and Article 6(1)(f) GDPR; consent is not required for them under German law. The language-preference cookie is set when you actively change your language and is treated as part of the requested service.
Should we introduce optional cookies in future, we will display a clear consent banner before any non-essential cookie is set, and you will be able to accept, reject or adjust your choice at any time. A withdrawn consent does not affect processing performed before withdrawal.
05
§ 06
Browser controls
Independently of any consent we collect, you can control cookies through the settings of your web browser. Most browsers let you:
- View and delete cookies already stored on your device.
- Block all cookies, or block cookies set by specific sites.
- Be notified before a new cookie is set.
- Open a private or incognito window in which cookies are deleted at the end of the session.
Blocking strictly necessary cookies may cause parts of this website (notably the contact form and the admin panel) to stop working as intended.
06
§ 07
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
We honour the "Do Not Track" and "Global Privacy Control" signals where they apply. Because we do not run cross-site tracking on this website, the practical effect is limited to declining future optional analytics cookies should we ever introduce them.
07
§ 08
Changes to this policy
We will keep this page in step with the cookies actually in use on the website. When we add, remove or materially change a cookie, we will update the table above and the "last updated" date at the top of this page.
